Caring for AIDS

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is the virus that can lead to “Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and it has always been a major global public issue, especially in developing countries. In 2018 an estimated 37.9 million people (including 1.7 million children) were living with HIV/AIDS.

A mother infected with HIV has a 15% to 40% chance of passing the virus to her child during pregnancy, labouring or breast-feeding. Without appropriate treatment, the infected children have no choice but to suffer.

Besides providing effective treatments for the inflected to stay healthy, Happy Tree also cares their mental health and we provide caring for AIDS programme in Cambodia and India.

Happy Tree established House of Rainbow Bridge in 2004 which we aim to provide hospice to HIV+ orphans and provide them a chance to live with dignity.

The "rainbow" represents the bridge hanging from the sky, connecting the world of suffering and heaven. We believe we will eventually be reunited with this group of angels.
